James Raw makes custom Japanese-style swords, wakizashis and tantos. The blades are hand forged from EN45 (spring steel)
and are hardened in the traditional Japanese way by applying clay to the blade and quenching in water.
Each one carries a distinct and unique hamon.

Although James creates his swords as objects of beauty, he keeps in mind the original purpose of a sword,
including the Japanese sword arts such as Iaido, Iaijutsu and Tameshigiri. The swords are designed
to perform and cut like Nihonto and should be handled with care as they are extremely sharp.

Each sword is completely hand crafted and polished by James Raw himself, making each one a unique, heirloom-quality
piece that will always retain it's high value.

He can make blades to your specifications, along with other styles associated with the Samurai era, such as Yari (spears)
or Naginata (polearms), giving you the opportunity to own a one of a kind handcrafted item.

The following reflect prices for ‘standard’ orders i.e. Tanto, Wakizashi and Katana. Prices for unusual blade styles/shapes
and other special requirements will be quoted for separately.

Tanto 14"-16"blade
(smith polish)         would vary between 800.00 US and 900.00 US
(full hand polish) would vary between 1420.00US and 1620.00 US

Wakizashi 17"-19"blade
(smith polish)          would vary between 900.00 US and 1050.00 US
(full hand polish) would vary between 1570.00 US and 1870.00 US

katana 27"-29"blade
(smith polish)         would vary between 1375.00 US and 1575.00 US
(full hand polish) would vary between 1695.00 US and 1995.00 us

The variation of the pricing will always depend of the length of the blade.
