The Dragonfly set is based on our Kiyomaro geometry with double so-hi (narrow grooves) on one side, with a single bo-hi (wide groove) on the reverse side. The dragonfly fittings set is based around a tsuba designed by renowned sculpter Ruben Viramontes. Includes high quality Japanese sageo (not pictured in sword photos).
The blade is hand forged from a single AISI 1070 steel billet. The hamon is authentically achieved by a process of clay-backing and tempering, producing a martensite edge and pearlite body. The edge and polish are finished by hand with natural and synthetic polishing stones for non-decorative practioner's finish. The fittings are of quality lost wax castings in blackened brass and cupernickle alloy. The handle is fit with genuine rayskin panels wrapped with silk cord. The sheath is hand carved softwood lacquered in multiple layers to create an orange-peel finish for a superior grip.
Includes: Imported Japanese Chosun-Length Kakucho or Shigeuchi Sageo, Certificate of Authenticity, and Maintenance Kit.
Sageo Colors: Solid White, Solid Brown, Solid Black. Subject to Availability. Other styles available by special order.
